     Veterinarians

Greg Thomas, DVM  (Retired, but you still may catch a glimpse)

Dr. Thomas founded All Animals Veterinary Hospital (AAVH) in 1992 and established White Bluff Animal Clinic (WBAC) in 2001.  He is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served for six and a half years.  Dr. Thomas graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1987 after completing his undergraduate degree at Austin Peay State University.  After graduation, Dr. Thomas began practicing veterinary medicine with Waverly Animal Clinic until opening AAVH.  The original AAVH building required continual renovations to keep up with the growing business.  Finally in 2004, Dr. Thomas designed the current building we practice in. Dr. Thomas likes to travel with his wife, visit with his 2 daughters and especially loves spending time with his grandchildren.

Ellie Goan, DVM

Dr. Goan graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University in 2010 after completing a Bachelors in Animal Science at Clemson University and a Masters in Veterinary Physiology at University of Georgia.  Dr. Goan came to the AAVH/WBAC family after graduation in 2010 and became a co-owner in 2015.  She was born in East Tennessee and grew up equally between North and South Carolina.  In her spare time she can be found working outside, fishing on her pond, hanging out with her dogs, traveling, or spending time with friends and family.  Dr. Goan's favorite aspect of working at AAVH is that we never know what species with what ailments are going to walk in the door.

Jessica Ward, DVM

Dr. Jessica Ward graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. She has family across the Southeast and her grandparents were previously Dickson County residents, which fortunately for us, brought Dr. Ward here.  Dr. Ward grew up raising emus, llamas, donkey, horses, cats, and dogs.  This  clearly fostered a love for all animals.  Her favorite animal is a wombat, but her favorite to treat are cows. In Dr. Ward's downtime, she spends time with her cats, Riggs and Jones and her dog, Sylvie, as well as knits, and reads horror and murder mystery.

Alaine Gerughty, DVM

Dr. Alaine Gerughty grew up in Louisville, KY as the youngest of four children. She graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 after completing a Bachelors in Animal Science at the University of Kentucky. She enjoys traveling and so far her favorite place has been Australia and she eventually wants to visit Ireland. During her time off she enjoys relaxing with her wild pup Nyla or working on a cross stitch. In the future she hopes to learn physical therapy techniques to help your fury friends even more! She can’t wait to meet you and your pets!

Jacie Sweeney, DVM

Dr. Jacie Sweeney is originally from south Arkansas where she grew up highly involved in 4-H and FFA, exhibiting both sheep and swine and judging livestock. Livestock judging grew into such a passion, she continued to judge livestock at the collegiate level, where she also received her Bachelors in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas in 2016. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. Sweeney enjoys hiking, kayaking, and being in the outdoors with her dog, Ollie Jean or curled up reading a good book or finishing a difficult puzzle with her cat, Liza Marie. Dr. Sweeney is very eager to meet you and your pets of all shapes and sizes.

Paul Ulrich, DVM

Dr. Ulrich specializes in small animal, avian, and exotic medicine and surgery.  Dr. Ulrich earned his Bachelors in Biology in 1976, his Masters in Zoology in 1978 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1982 all from University of California at Davis.  He worked at Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital in California from 1982 - 2017 and was a partner from 1990-2017. After retiring from Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital he helped their local shelter from 2018-2019.  In 2019 Dr. Ulrich and his wife moved to Dickson. In 2020 Dr. Ulrich began helping out the Humane Society of Dickson County, which he still does today.  He became a member of the AAVH/WBAC family in February 2022.  Dr. Ulrich enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and their 4 grown kids.  He also enjoys golfing and horticulture.  He is a foodie as well as a novice guitar player.

Erica Fenton, DVM

Dr. Fenton has done relief work for us since 2020.  While we only get to see Dr. Fenton from time to time she is definitely a part of the AAVH/WBAC family!  We have not yet given up hope that she will move to Dickson and permanently join the practices.  Dr. Fenton is a self described crazy cat lady. Her and her husband have several cats of their own and they are fostering at least a handful more at any given time.  She also has an adorable Beagle and a very loving and entertaining Labrador.  Dr. Fenton's favorite thing about AAVH/WBAC is the dynamic she has with the staff and anything related to goats.
